In Vitro Fertiliation
Infertility is the inability to achieve pregnancy within a year despite regular sexual intercourse. The infertility rate in the world is at least 15%. This problem is more common as the age progresses. Infertility is a health problem associated with the reproductive system.
There can be a single cause or a combination of factors. There are many safe and effective treatments for infertility. These treatments increase the chances of couples having children. Infertility can be of female origin or male origin. Nevertheless, despite all the investigations, at least 10% of the patients still can not find the cause.
You should go to a clinic in the following situations;
-If you are planning to become pregnant and you are over 30 years old and you do not have menstrual bleeding for 6 months,
-If your menstrual periods are irregular or painful, your pelvic pain, endometriosis (such as chocolate cysts) or recurrent abortions (if 2 or more abortions are present).
-Low sperm count, testicular and prostate diseases history or sexual problems
In vitro fertilization is the most preferred assisted reproduction technique. The treatment process begins with the use of infertility medications to stimulate the ovaries so that the woman can normally produce more oocyte.
In devices (incubators) that simulate mother's body environment, the holding process is called "insemination".
Two methods are used in IVF treatment. In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) or Microinjection (ICSI).
Microinjection (ICSI) is the process of injecting a single sperm into a single oocyte matured through a special microscope and micromanipulators.
The injected oocyte are placed in an incubation chamber that provides a similar environment to the mother's body environment in the wells developed to provide embryo development.
The selection of sperm by high magnification with the aid of microscope and the process of microinjection is IMSI (high magnification sperm selection).
In IVF treatments, ICSI procedure is preferred because of high success.
In vitro Fertiliation Method
In vitro Fertiliation (IVF) method, oocytes collected with stimulant medicines are placed in a tube containing special culture fluid. Then a certain number of moving sperm are added to this tube. In this way, sperm is expected to spontaneously enter the oocyte.
The difference of IVF from the microinjection is that oocytes and sperm parameters must be appropriate.
Infertility Treatment with IVF
The treatment is based on the patient's condition. For preliminary control of the woman, the best time is the end of the week for women's menstruation. Preliminary control of the male should not have been in sexual contact for 3-5 days.
2 days is enough for the first evaluation. According to the results of the tests, the most appropriate treatment is decided.
In the long-term treatment protocol, the first hormones are held by nasal spray or subcutaneous needle for approximately 10-12 days to suppress the ovaries.
The second period of treatment begins when the patient appears. Hormonal therapy is used to allow oocytes to mature for about 8-10 days.
Then oocytes are collected. In the short-term treatment protocol, they start to develop osteotomies on the 2nd or 3rd day of drug menstruation.
The suppressive mendicament used to control the hormones released by the ovaries is in the last days of therapy.
Patients are monitored for blood hormone levels by vaginal ultrasonography and are sent as human chorionic gonadotropin follicles, commonly known as injections, reach their correct size. Oocytes accumulate after 33-36 hours.
This procedure is performed under anesthesia to prevent the patient's pain and lasts about 10-15 minutes.
After 2 to 5 days of collection, the selected embryos are transferred to the catheter via a thin catheter. Embryo transfer is a painless procedure and can be viewed by patients as they are made with ultrasound. Patients may return to their homes after embryo transfer after bed rest for 30-45 minutes.
The treatment in the hospital lasts about 15 days.
